Get Involved

Student Clubs & Organizations

NPU has over 100 registered student clubs and organisations. International students are encouraged to join — it is one of the best ways to make friends and practise Chinese.

International Student Union (ISU)

The central organization for international students at NPU, organizing monthly cultural exchange events, peer buddy matching, new student orientation, and the annual Cultural Bridge (文化桥) gala.

Debate & Public Speaking Club

Open to all languages — debates in English and Mandarin, monthly competitions, and links to the national university debate circuit.

Sports Clubs (体育社团)

Basketball, football, table tennis, badminton, martial arts, yoga, swimming, and running clubs all accept international members. Equipment is available for loan from the sports centre.

Arts & Cultural Societies

Calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting, music ensemble, photography, and film club. Regular exhibitions and performances open to all students.

Volunteer & Community Service

NPU volunteers participate in Terracotta Warriors site maintenance, Xi'an city half-marathon support, and tutoring in local schools. Great for Chinese practice and meeting local residents.

How to Join a Club

Club recruitment takes place during the Annual Student Club Fair (社团招募会) in September. You can also approach club representatives via the Student Union office or WeChat group.
